New assistant city manager, department directors
Brooks Bennett, information technology director, has been named Assistant City Manager, effective Feb. 2. Heath Douglas, assistant IT director, will become IT director at the same time. Susan Morgan has been hired as the new chief financial officer. She begins in February.
Countdown to new website
The City launches its redesigned website this weekend. Please be patient as we address any issues that arise after the launch. A big thank you goes to all the employees who have been working hard to get the site ready!

Holiday Drive-In Double Feature
Rise of the Guardians and Arthur Christmas
Enjoy a drive-in movie double feature at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, in downtown Round Rock. Cost is $25 per car load or $5 with two unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. Movies are Rise of the Guardians at 6 p.m. and Arthur Christmas at 8 p.m.
Employee nights at Rock’N Lights
Employees can enjoy Rock’N Lights for free on Dec. 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10 during regular hours. Just show your City Employee ID for a one time, one family vehicle access.
Celebrating employee anniversaries with the City
Rick Jones (left) celebrated 30 years with the City at the October Employee Recognition Dinner. Michael Thane was on hand to congratulate him.
On Oct. 28, employees with anniversaries were honored at the Employee Recognition Dinner at the Lone Oak Barn. Rick Jones of Utilities and Environmental Services and Doug Nelson from Fire celebrated 30 years with the City.

The Customer Service Team presented the 2014 Customer Service Awareness Day at Centennial Plaza on Oct. 30. The theme was Halloween and it was a big success. The day included a costume contest.
