Books lovers have a chance to share their reading knowledge and win a $10 gift card in February.

Library staff are looking for a few good books and would like to get your recommendations. In February, the Libary is holding the Employee Reading Program for City employees to give book reviews to share with patrons. Just submit a book review to be entered into a prize drawing for one of ten $10 gift cards. The more reviews you submit, the greater your chances of winning.

Submissions can be for any book but those for books owned by the Library will be posted.

“Sharing our reading knowledge is great customer service and helps to brand the Library and the City,” says Michelle Cervantes, library director. “The community enjoys employee book recommendations. We have learned from previous Library Staff Reading Programs, that our book recommendations and reviews count for a lot.”

The program runs from Feb. 1 to 28. Prize winners will be announced in March.

How to Enter

Email your book review to rrpls@roundrocktexas.gov. Use the subject line Employee Reading Program.

Each book review counts as one entry in the prize drawing. All book reviews of Young Adult (YA) and Adult reading levels accepted.

All reviews should include:

  • Title
  • Author
  • Comments explaining why you recommend the book

Comments can include plot, character, theme, comparison to other books or authors—whatever you find noteworthy. It’s helpful to mention which audience (romance fans, readers who prefer fast-moving plots, etc.) would be interested.
