Utilities Services Superintendent Richard Medrano was recognized as a Certified Water Professional (CWP) by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) in December.

The CWP certification, which represents the highest professional credential in the water utilities field, is a culmination of many years of experience and a minimum of 225 hours of classroom training through TEEX in water and wastewater treatment, operations and maintenance, management, safety, laboratory and other areas specific to the water utilities industry.

As of December, only 57 certifications had been issued. TEEX applauds Richard for his CWP achievements and dedication to provide safe drinking water to the community and the citizens of Texas.

“I’m very fortunate to be part of the City and to be allowed this opportunity,” says Richard. “Training like this helps us serve the public better.”

TEEX, an international component agency of the Texas A&M University System, offers on-site, customized training and services to businesses and industries, municipalities and public agencies.

Congratulations, Richard!
