Customer Service Week
A week dedicated to focusing on the importance of customer service

This year’s customer service theme – Building Trust – is near and dear to my heart.

Without constantly building trust our organization simply could not reach the heights it does. We are the envy of many communities throughout the state and the only way we continue to achieve the awards and accolades we do is from having motivated, professional, and caring employees.

I will put our staff members at the City of Round Rock up against any other city in the country.

Each day I wake up and trust that our employees will do what is right for the organization and the community. Time and again our employees rise to the occasion and meet and exceed all expectations. I believe this is built into our “DNA” here in Round Rock and hope that it never goes away. Going above and beyond for someone, especially when they are in a time of need, is a great way to build trust.

In my Customer Service Message last year I noted that in today’s cultural and political climate it is easy to focus on the negative. In many cases negativity comes from deeply seeded distrust. Thankfully, I believe we are blessed to have a citizenry in Round Rock that overwhelmingly has trust in the services we provide and the work we do. This trust is not given to us, it is built day in and day out and thank you for working alongside me to continue to build and strengthen this trust.

I cannot say it enough. Thank you for your outstanding customer service both inside and outside of the organization. Furthermore, please take the opportunity this week to thank a fellow employee for the great service they provide. – Laurie Hadley, City of Round Rock City Manager
