Rock Beats

A message from City Manager Hadley on Customer Service Week

To all –cswlogo_2016

As we prepare for our annual Customer Service Week, I wondered if other Cities do anything like this.  To the best of my knowledge, the answer is no. We are different, a cut above the rest. So what sets the City of Round Rock apart from other organizations?

The answer to this question is simple, what sets Round Rock apart is our employees. When the City posts a job opening we generally have dozens if not hundreds of applicants, which means we are able to hire the best of the best. Because we draw great talent, we are able to put a lot of effort into hiring folks that are a “culture fit.”

So what do I see as our culture here at the City of Round Rock?

Put simply, Round Rock gets things done with a positive attitude and we are at our best when working as teams. Without teamwork, inside and across departments, you simply could not achieve the great feats that you do.

This year’s customer service theme – Service Champions – recognizes that excellence is only possible with a team of committed professionals working together collaboratively and cooperatively. As we begin a new fiscal year, I encourage you to acknowledge your fellow team members who lead by example, achieve personal success, and exceed expectations.

In today’s world, it is easy to focus on the negative, so please use Customer Service Week as an opportunity to honor the servant leadership you and those you work with provide on a daily basis. I know there is a lot of work to do well into the future, so please be aware, you are a key component in making great things happen for our community.

I want to personally thank each employee for their hard work. I am honored to serve alongside you.

Sincerely,

Laurie Hadley, City Manager
