Scott Parker Before and After

Scott Parker isn’t just a Shop Supervisor in our General Services Department, he’s also an out-of-this-world advocate for the free fitness classes offered by the City to all employees. Why? Because he’s living proof of their value. The CoreSpeed class changed his life for the better – find out how in his testimonial below:

I was a heart attack waiting to happen. I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol and was extremely over weight. I couldn’t do anything without having to stop to catch my breath and had no energy at all. I needed help.

Over four years ago now, I found that help through the CoreSpeed fitness program offered at no cost to City employees. My blood pressure is down, cholesterol is below 180, I’ve lost forty pounds of fat and gained lean muscle. I had two setbacks during this time: a shoulder surgery and a knee surgery. Even through these injuries, Carlos kept me right on track. THIS PROGRAM WORKS!

I used to be like all of you. I made excuse after excuse for not working out. “I don’t have the time to work out. I don’t have a place to work out. I can’t afford a gym.”

CoreSpeed takes care of all of that. The times are convenient, the locations are convenient and as far as affordability goes, you can’t beat FREE! The city pays for you to do this program!

And don’t worry, you don’t need to be a fitness buff to join in – I sure wasn’t. From couch potato to elite athlete, this program is set up to help people at all fitness levels achieve success. You’ll work on improving strength, cardio and endurance at a pace that works for you, while still being able to participate in a group class setting.

So stop making excuses and come work out with us. It will be the best decision of your life!
