In July, The City of Round Rock’s Purchasing Department was awarded the prestigious Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) from the National Procurement Institute, for the second consecutive year. The 2023 AEP Award was earned by 194 public and non-profit agencies that demonstrate a commitment to procurement excellence. Round Rock is one of 62 cities nationally to receive this distinction, which affirms that our procurement operations meet or exceed industry standards. The annual program recognizes procurement organizations that embrace Innovation, Professionalism, Productivity, Leadership, and e-Procurement.

The Purchasing Department is comprised of eight professional staff members, who collectively possess more than 110 years of experience in public procurement. Six team members are professionally certified through board administered examinations and continuing education programs.
