Parks and Recreation Department earns Aquatic Agency of the Year distinction

The City of Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department Aquatics Division was recently awarded “Class 1 Aquatic Agency of the Year” by the Texas Public Pool Council.

Dedicated to providing information and education to aquatic professionals, The Texas Public Pool Council considers Class 1 agencies as those with a population of more than 75,000 residents. Recipients of the AAY must demonstrate effective, quality aquatics programming, have a significant impact on the youth and families of their local community through entertainment and fun and have successful implantation of an innovating or existing new program.

Applications for the award required agencies to submit a program description, examples of innovation and adaptation to meet special populations and a clear demonstration of the program’s overall impact and success.

The Texas Public Pool Council awards committee presented the award at the 2017 TPPC Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
