Open enrollment for 2026 employee benefits Oct. 1-31

City of Round Rock employees must complete open enrollment for 2026 benefits online in their Employee Self Service account, even if they are declining all benefits.

Employees should lock in their selections during the City’s annual open enrollment period, Oct. 1-31. Full-time employees who work 30 hours or more weekly are eligible for City benefits, and may enroll their spouses and children up to age 26.

During open enrollment, City employees may enroll in health, dental and vision insurance plans. Available coverage also includes:

  • Accident insurance
  • Long-term and short-term disability insurance
  • Health care flexible spending accounts
  • Day care flexible spending accounts
  • Identity theft protection
  • Critical illness insurance
  • Hospital gap insurance
  • Pre-paid legal plans
  • Life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance
  • Pet insurance (employee discount only)
  • Pharmacy benefits
  • Retirement benefits

Medical, dental and vision plan rates for employees will remain unchanged during the coming benefits year. However, the City will increase its contribution to health insurance benefits by 8.2 percent, contributing $96 more per employee per month.

The new annual maximum contribution an employee can make for day care flexible spending accounts is $7,500. Covered expenses included but are not limited to before- and after-school care, daycare, preschool, day camps and elder care.

The City is reducing its waiting period for long-term disability benefits from 180 days to 90 days, and decreasing its short-term disability rates. Employees are eligible for short-term disability if their disability prevents them from working for at least 15 days, and eligible for long-term disability if they remain unable to work for more than 90 days. Pre-existing conditions and other income may affect disability coverage.

City employees should verify that their beneficiary information for life insurance coverage and retirement benefits is up to date.

Please note that all new dependents and re-enrolled dependents will be asked to provide verification after the benefits open enrollment period.

Sang Dhar and Tyler Jarl with City of Round Rock Human Resources are available for support with benefits enrollment and beneficiary updates.

The City also offers Airrosti chiropractic benefits, CoreSpeed fitness classes, RockCare medical clinic and convenience care clinics (such as CVS Minute Clinics), an employee wellness center, tuition assistance, free yoga classes and other discounts. City employees do not need to directly enroll in Airrosti, RockCare and convenience care clinics during the open enrollment period, as they are included automatically with health insurance benefits.
