Rock Beats

Finance Department recognized by Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle program

The City of Round Rock has been recognized by the State Comptroller for attaining the highest level of transparency in its financial activities.

The Comptroller of Public Accounts launched the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle program in December 2009 to recognize local governments across Texas that are striving to meet a high standard for financial transparency online. It spotlights those local governments that are:

    • opening their books to the public

    • providing clear, consistent pictures of spending

  • sharing information in a user-friendly format that lets taxpayers easily drill down for more information.

Financial transparency is an ongoing goal for any government entity. The Comptroller’s office encourages and applauds local governments that are stepping up efforts to give taxpayers a transparent look at where their money goes.

“Gold” status highlights those entities that are setting the bar with their transparency efforts. Round Rock received its Gold status in March.

The Comptroller’s site includes a listing of cities and their award status. Special recognition goes out to Christi McAllister, Sherri Crone, Elaine Wilson and Chris Childs for making the Gold Award possible.

Congratulations to our Finance Department!
