Utilities staff wins multiple awards at annual conference

Outstanding Professional Award

Francisco Vicent (Cisco) was awarded the 2018 Texas Water Utility Association’s (TWUA) Outstanding Professional Award for his dedication and exemplary service to the water utilities industry at the TWUA annual conference in Corpus Christi. His hard work, desire for greatness and his genuine interest in helping staff to learn and grow is recognized and appreciated by his staff.

To receive this award, the recipient had to display a sincere interest in the protection of public health and our environment, as well as in helping others to do so by serving in this organization and supporting its devotion to those goals.

 

The Leadership Award

The City’s Utilities & Environmental Services Department was awarded the 2018 TWUA Leadership Award for the Smart Meter Project at their annual conference in Corpus Christi. The project, which began in 2009, includes the installation and conversion of all water meters to automated meter reading and an AMI water metering system. There are many benefits to this project, substantial financial savings, real-time data which helps expedite identifying problems in the system and helps educate customers on when and where they’re using the most water. This award is recognition of the City’s efforts to improve the public health and water environment of the citizens of Texas.
