Customer Service Stories Part II
Celebrating Service at the City of Round Rock

This year for Customer Service Week we solicited customer service stories and testimonials that show the many ways that City departments and their employees deliver service excellence. We hope these examples serve to illustrate, inspire, and celebrate great customer service at the City of Round Rock. We will be sharing more stories each day for the remainder of Customer Service Week.

From the Library

This patron walks up to the desk and says, “I would like to pay for this book.” And I ask her, “What happened to it?” She shows me the book and it’s all chewed up on the corners. “Let me see it please.” I get the book and look at it and the title of the book is How to Train Your Dog. She looks at me and smiles and says, “I know, I know.”

A few days later another patron walks up to the desk and says, “I would like to pay the fine on this book” and she hands the book to me. I get it and I look at the title. The title reads How Not to Procrastinate. I look up at her and she smiles at me and says, “I never had the chance to read it.”

From the Fire Department

“We are very conscious about not only home safety but conscious energy-savers. This survey helped us see where our efforts to ensure overall safety were done properly, and also how to do a better job in the years to come. There were many helpful suggestions made that will remain with me, some of which are simple, but so important to know! For example, how to care for your kitchen fire extinguisher and how to know when you need a new one (before you need it in an emergency). So valuable! Thank you for this valuable service.”

Patricia E. Round Rock, Forrest Creek

“I feel the service provided is absolutely invaluable to home owners in Round Rock to prevent home fires, especially in the area of smoke detectors that are strategically placed through the home. Also, having a experienced fireman come into the home just to observe the conditions in the home and make suggestions on how to keep the home safe from fires. By providing this service I feel the Fire Safety Service would save the valuable resources of the Round Rock Fire Department.”
